SOUTHWEST UNIVERSITY PARK - EL PASO, TEXAS

IFG was selected by the City of El Paso and MountainStar Sports Group to serve as their Owner’s Representative during the design and construction of the new AAA ballpark located in downtown El Paso for the El Paso Chihuahuas for AAA affiliate of the San Diego Padres.  The ballpark has over 8,100 seats with luxury suites, club seats, outfield lawn seating, multi-level party decks and numerous specialty seating areas.  The ballpark also incorporates the team offices, clubhouse facilities, two retail stores and provisions to host concerts and community events year-round. 

IFG responsibilities included assisting with the selection of the Construction Manager, procurement of the demolition of the existing buildings, design administration, operations reviews, coordination with the adjacent railroad and infrastructure, construction oversight, FF&E procurement and building commissioning.

Designed by Populous and constructed by Jordan-Hunt JV, the ballpark opened in April 2014.  The project has received numerous design awards including Ballpark of the Year from Ballparks.com.
