IFG was selected by the City of Wichita to serve as their Owners’ Representative during the design and construction of the new AAA ballpark.  Located in downtown Wichita, the ballpark serves as the new home for the Marlins’ affiliate relocated from New Orleans.  The ballpark will accommodate 10,000 fans including 14 suites, a club lounge and seating, loge seating areas, outfield lawn seating, a large picnic area and numerous group sales areas.  The ballpark includes the team offices, club house facilities, two retail stores and the relocated National Baseball Museum.  The $75 million project is planned to include, and the funding is contingent upon, significant mixed-use development by the Team.

IFG assisted the City during the initial feasibility activities leading to the partnership formed by the City and Team.  IFG responsibilities include assisting with the selection of the Design Build team, design administration, technology system selection, on-site construction oversight and building commissioning.  IFG continues to assist the Team with the mixed-use development.

The Design Build team included JE Dunn, Eby, SJCF, DLR and PEC.  Completed within budget on an aggressive 16-month schedule, the ballpark was finished in April 2020, but due to the COVID 19 pandemic, opened in May 2021.
