IFG Orioles Spring Training.jpg

IFG was selected as the Owner's Representative to Sarasota County for the design and construction of the Spring Training Facility for the Baltimore Orioles.  The renovated spring training facility was funded with $31.2 million from the County of Sarasota.  IFG represented the County by coordinating the efforts of the multiple design and construction teams.  The extensive stadium renovations included the much needed upgrades of fan amenities, expanded concourses, press/suite facilities and improved team support areas.  The stadium area was increased by over 85,000 SF which included doubling the amount of restrooms, tripling the number of concessions and increasing seating capacity to nearly 8,700 total seats. The project also included a 35,000 square foot state-of-the-art clubhouse and a 25,000 square foot minor league clubhouse at the Twin Lakes Park Complex. The stadium was the first MLB facility to achieve the LEED Gold rating.

The Architect of Record was Hoyt Architects in conjunction with David M. Schwartz Architects.  The Construction Manager was a partnership with Mills Construction and Hunt Construction.  The new spring training facility opened in March 2011 and set both single game and spring training attendance records for Sarasota County and the Baltimore Orioles.
