AMERICAN FAMILY FIELDS - PHOENIX, ARIZONA

IFG served as the Owner’s Representative for the Milwaukee Brewers during the redevelopment of the baseball park and spring training facilities located in the Maryvale neighborhood on the west on side of Phoenix.

On November 15, 2017, the Phoenix City Council voted in favor of a plan to renovate the team’s Spring Training complex, formerly known as Maryvale Baseball Park.  Four months later March 20, 2018 the Brewers, along with the City of Phoenix, broke ground on the aggressive schedule to completely rebuild the facility.

The $62,000,000 project included a new 106,000 square-foot clubhouse building with locker rooms and vastly improved facilities for baseball operations, along with a wide array of fan enhancements including new concessions, retail stores, seating and a new video board.  The complex features a new entry plaza, renovated space for sports science and psychological services, an eight-lane batting tunnel, agility field, new pitching and catching mounds, a high-performance practice field matching Miller Park’s dimensions, and improvements to each of the seven playing fields.

In partnership with Grand Canyon University, the Brewers created a Learning Lounge, an area inside the clubhouse building where local students have access to free tutoring from Grand Canyon University students.

Designed by HKS and constructed by Mortenson Construction Company, the redevelopment was completed on time for the 2019 Spring Training season.
