METCALFE FEDERAL BUILDING - CHICAGO, ILLINOIS
While at Stein & Company, Mark Appell was responsible for the coordination of the tenant improvement work and the base building construction of the 27-story, 800,000 sf Metcalf Federal Building. Appell directed the design and construction for all of the office and special-use areas including conference, computer, day-care, foodservice, fitness and medical facilities.
Designed by Fujikawa-Johnson and constructed by Morse Diesel, the Metcalf Federal Building was completed in July 1991 ahead of schedule and within its $153 million project budget.
