TARGET FIELD - MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA

IFG Target Field.jpg

IFG assisted the Twins with the design and construction of their new ballpark in downtown Minneapolis.  The open air ballpark includes approximately 40,000 seats, 66 private suites, 3,000 club seats, a 400 seat Champions Club directly behind home plate and various restaurants and lounges throughout.  The $390 million ballpark project was located on a relatively small site, with portions of the ballpark constructed over an active railroad and interstate highway.  The contemporary design features earth toned limestone exterior cladding, open views to the playing field from all public concourses, generous covered seating areas and spectacular views of the Minneapolis skyline.

IFG’s responsibilities included program and design review, oversight of the various technology systems and food service areas and assisting the Twins with the development of their ballpark operations plan.

Designed by Populous and constructed by M.A. Mortenson, the new ballpark opened in April 2010.
