MIAMI MARLINS BALLPARK PROJECT - MIAMI, FLORIDA

IFG Miami Marlins.jpg

IFG, in partnership with URS, was retained by Miami-Dade County in 2008 to assist with the design and construction of the $515 million retractable roof ballpark on the former Orange Bowl site.  The ballpark included approximately 37,000 seats, 57 private suites, 3,500 club seats and open concourses with generous concessions and fan support facilities throughout.  The contemporary design featured a large entry plaza, multiple parking ramps and surface lots for approximately 5,500 vehicles, open views to the natural grass playing field from all public concourses, full air conditioning and spectacular views to the Miami skyline.

IFG’s responsibilities included review of various development agreements, program and design reviews, review of the construction agreement and cost estimates and oversight of the public infrastructure work to be funded directly by the County and City.

Designed by Populous and constructed by Hunt Construction Group, the ballpark project opened in April 2012.
