GUARANTEED RATE FIELD - CHICAGO, ILLINOIS

IFG Guaranteed.jpg

IFG personnel served as Project Managers for the Chicago White Sox during development of Guaranteed Rate Field (formerly named US Cellular Field).  The ballpark represented the first of a new generation of baseball parks and elements of its design and operations have been emulated in many other facilities.  With a project cost of $187 million, the stadium included 44,000 seats over six concourse levels, 119 private suites, 20 concession stands, a stadium club, and 20,000 square feet of administrative offices.

IFG personnel provided planning and project management services, including site selection; securing legislation and (public) financing; lease/contract negotiations; design; construction administration; contract negotiations and operational commissioning.

Designed by HOK Sport and constructed by Perini Construction, the ballpark opened in April 1991. The facility also recently underwent a four-year, phased $85M renovation to enhance patron amenities and revenues to the Team and Illinois Sports Authority.
