SEARS CENTRE ARENA - HOFFMAN ESTATES, ILLINOIS

IFG was retained in March of 2009 to provide the City of Hoffman Estates with a comprehensive assessment of Sears Centre Arena a 10,000-seat multi-purpose facility which opened in October 2006.

The goal of the assessment was to analyze factors that were influencing the Sears Centre’s market and financial position, including existing operational budgets, contracts, operating and marketing practices to develop realistic proformas and expectations for the Sears Centre. IFG established a benchmarking process to gauge and compare operational/financial performance as well as the arena’s overall competitive position. 

IFG provided specific recommendations relative the Sears Centre’s future performance and ability to service current debt levels as well as providing recommendations pertaining to the various operating options available to the facility. The study resulted in the identification of specific opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency, reallocate resources and enhance the patrons’ experience.
