DUNKIN DONUTS CENTER RENOVATION - PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND

IFG Dunkin Donuts.jpg

IFG provided project management support services for the $65 million renovation of the 14,500-seat Dunkin Donuts Center in downtown Providence, which hosts the AHL Bruins and Providence College’s men’s basketball team.  In 2006, IFG assisted the Rhode Island Convention Center Authority in contract negotiations with the selected A/E team and managed the CM RFP and selection process in conjunction with the Authority.

Ellerbe Becket was selected to provide architectural and engineering services and Gilbane Construction was selected as the construction manager for the 33-year-old downtown arena. The three-year long renovation project created 20 new suites, new seating, and significant improvements of the existing MEP systems.  Additional upgrades included refurbishing and expanding the lobby and concourses, adding concession areas, restrooms and dressing rooms.  Every effort was made to keep the facility operational during all renovations.  The bulk of project work was done in the ‘off-season’ (from June through September of each year).
