IFG was retained by the City of Indianapolis to serve as Owner’s Representative during the design and construction of the new downtown arena, formerly known as Conseco Fieldhouse.

The Bankers Life Fieldhouse is a fully themed basketball facility.  The retro design incorporates all the history and romance of basketball’s roots.  Located in Indianapolis’ historic wholesale district, the arena’s brick exterior and civic arched roof integrates smoothly into the surroundings.  The arena accommodates 18,500 seats for basketball, including 2,600 club level seats and 69 private suites on two levels.  A stadium club restaurant, practice facility, television broadcast/production studio, team store and themed restaurant are some of the outstanding features of the project.

Designed by Ellerbe Becket and constructed by Huber, Hunt & Nichols, the $212 million arena opened in November 1999.
