IFG in partnership with URS, served as the Owner’s Representative to the City of Orlando to provide design review and operational planning services for the development of the Amway Center.  IFG continued to work with the City of Orlando through the opening of the arena, including the decommissioning of the existing Amway Arena. 

 

IFG’s responsibilities included providing construction and operational reviews of the design documents and participating in the coordination meetings up to completion of the Construction Documents.  IFG provided operational planning services, including FF&E analysis and research, warranty and service agreement analysis, ice plant maintenance and many other operational requests.  IFG also assisted with the decommissioning of the old Amway Arena, in addition to onsite operational assistance during the grand opening activities.

 

The arena includes 19,700 seats and 60 suites.  Designed by Populous and constructed by Hunt Construction Company, the Amway Center opened in the Fall of 2010.
